The present invention relates to a system and a method of starting up a motor of a floating maritime structure, which sequentially starts up a high capacity motor by way of an inverter, which is commonly used in generators with restricted capacities, such that a start up current is suppressed while starting up the high capacity motor. According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a motor start up system comprising at least two motors and a generator for starting up the motors. The system comprises an inverter which is commonly used in the two motors; a pair of input switches which are installed between the generator and the inverters; a pair of output switches which are installed between the inverter and the two motors; and a control panel which controls the input and output switches to sequentially start up the two motors. |
