A steam generator comprises: a pressure vessel; a plurality of heat transfer pipes (5) including a central heat transfer pipe (5A) and an outer heat transfer pipe (5B) that are accommodated in the pressure vessel; a first pipe support plate (21) for supporting the heat transfer pipes (5A, 5B); and a second pipe support plate (22) for supporting the heat transfer pipe (5B). The heat transfer pipe (5) has a first pipe section (51), a second pipe section (52), and a third pipe section (53). The first pipe section (51) and third pipe section (53) of the heat transfer pipe (5B) are formed to be longer compared to the first pipe section (51) and third pipe section (53) of the heat transfer pipe (5A). The first pipe support plate (21) supports the first pipe sections (51) and third pipe sections (53) of the heat transfer pipes (5A, 5B). The second pipe support plate (22) is provided between the second pipe section (52) of the heat transfer pipe (5A) and the second pipe section (52) of the heat transfer pipe (5B), supports the first pipe section (51) and the third pipe section (53) of the heat transfer pipe (5B), and has an omitted section (23) formed by omitting a region facing the second pipe section (52) of the heat transfer pipe (5A).
