The linear guide device (11) has two guide rails (12a,12b), which extend along an x-axis of a Cartesian coordinate system, where a carriage base (14a) of a guide carriage (15a) is linearly displaced on the former guide rail and has no other degree of freedom apart from the x-direction. An adapter element (21a) is pivotally mounted on the former carriage base with respect to z-axis that is fixed in the x-y plane. Another carriage base (14b) of another guide carriage (15b) is linearly displaced on the latter guide rail.
