This invention relates to an oil recovery system (100) having a plurality of equipment, which are connected to form a continuous processing line, comprising a waste oil transfer tank (101) containing an oil-based waste effluent; a first heater (105) for dissolving solids in the waste effluent; a screening machine (107) located downstream of the first heater (105) for removing undissolved solids from the heated waste oil to produce a first filtered waste effluent; a second heater (113) for heating the first filtered waste effluent; a catalyst feedstock (117) containing a catalyst; a reactor (115) for mixing the catalyst from the catalyst feedstock (117) with the heated first filtered waste effluent to form an oil phase, a solid phase and a water phase; a centrifuge (119) operable for separating the oil phase from the solid and water phases to produce a purified oil, characterized in that the equipment are mounted on a vehicle for portability.
