SATELLITE POSITIONING REFERENCE SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satellite positioning reference system and a method.SOLUTION: Satellite ephemeris data is received from an SPS satellite within view of a particular SPS reference receiver. A plurality of digital processing systems is coupled to a communication network to receive the satellite ephemeris data which is transmitted through the communication network. The digital processing system receives pseudorange data from an SPS mobile receiver and calculates position information of the SPS mobile receiver from a representation of the pseudorange data and the satellite ephemeris data received from the communication network. The digital processing system may also receive a plurality of sets of pseudorange correction data from the communication network and use the correction data to correct the pseudorange data in order to provide the representation of the pseudorange data. In one embodiment of this example of the present invention, a plurality of mobile SPS receivers are communicatively coupled.
