One embodiment of the present invention relates to a spectacle lens having a lens substrate and a vapour deposited film that is either directly or indirectly on the lens substrate, wherein, in a planar image taken by means of a transmission electron microscope, the average grain size observed in the vapour deposited film is at least 3.5nm, and the vapour deposited film is an oxide film of a metal selected from the group consisting of zirconium and tantalum, in which the proportion occupied by grain boundaries demarcating the boundaries between the grains and the regions outside of the grains is less than 15%.
