PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a conventional absorbent article (a disposable diaper, etc.) using absorbent resin particles is unable to completely absorb a liquid, and the unabsorbed liquid tends to cause trouble such as a rash when skin of a wearer is brought into contact with the unabsorbed liquid. SOLUTION: The absorbent resin particles include a crosslinked polymer (A1) containing a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolysable vinyl monomer (a2), and a crosslinking agent (b) as indispensable constituents, wherein 0.01-10.0 wt.% of a hydrophobic material (C) based on the weight of the crosslinked polymer (A1) is present inside the absorbent resin particles and 0.001-1.0 wt.% of a hydrophobic material (D) based on the weight of the crosslinked polymer (A1) is present on the surfaces of the absorbent resin particles.
