PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a coloring composition suitably used for a colored curable composition which hardly causes dye precipitation, exhibits excellent storage stability and may form a colored film with high luminance; a color filter and a production method thereof; and a display device.SOLUTION: The coloring composition contains: (A) at least one yellow dye selected from the group consisting of a compound represented by the specified general formula (I), a compound represented by the general formula (II), and a specific azo compound; and (B) two or more solvents with an I/O value of less than 1.5 and an SP value of less than 23.0 (MPa).
