PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-exposure X-ray diagnostic apparatus capable of omitting complicated setting of an area of interest.SOLUTION: An X-ray diagnostic apparatus includes: an X-ray generation part generating X-rays; an X-ray diaphragm unit having a diaphragm with a variable aperture limiting the irradiation field of an X-ray; a plane detector detecting the X-ray limited in the irradiation field via the X-ray diaphragm unit; an image data storing part storing X-ray image data output from the plane detector; a feature point extracting part extracting a desired device feature point from the X-ray image data; an ROI image position calculating part calculating the center position and the field of the area of interest on the basis of the position information on the feature point extracted by the feature point extracting part; and an ROI diaphragm position calculating part calculating the position of the aperture of the diaphragm of the X-ray diaphragm unit on the basis of the center position and the field of the area of interest calculated by the ROI image position calculating part.
