Provided are a transfer system for a liquid crystal panel and an automatic crane therefor, wherein the transfer system comprises guide rails (1) and a transfer device (2), the transfer device (2) comprises a main body (20) and wheels (21) arranged at the bottom of the main body, the wheels (21) bear against the guide rails (1) such that the transfer device (2) can travel along a preset direction of the guide rails (1). The transfer device (2) further comprises an alarm unit (24) and a sensor (23) arranged at the lower part of the main body, wherein the sensor (23) is used for detecting whether or not the wheels (21) are abnormal, and the alarm unit (24) is used for giving an alarm when the sensor (23) detects that the wheels (21) are abnormal. In the transfer system, by means of providing the sensor (23) to monitor the running situation of the wheels (21) in real time, an abnormality can be found in time and an alarm is given by the alarm unit (24) when there is an abnormality.
