PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that suppresses damage to an organic compound layer in pixels, and suppresses crosstalk.SOLUTION: A display device includes a plurality of organic EL elements 3R, 3G, 3B emitting different colors from each other, each of which includes a first electrode 11, an organic compound layer, and a second electrode 12; and a third electrode 20 formed between the first electrodes 11 of the two adjacent organic EL elements. The organic compound layer is formed across the first electrode 11 and the third electrode 20; and the third electrode 20 is covered with an insulating layer 60, or made of a material having carrier injection property smaller than that of the first electrode 11. The third electrode 20 is applied with a voltage having the same polarity as that of a threshold voltage of the two adjacent organic EL elements, and the absolute value equal to or larger than the absolute value of the threshold voltage.
