PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer type image forming method which can form a final image having high image quality.SOLUTION: A transfer type image forming method includes the steps of: adding a treatment liquid, which contains an ink viscosity increasing component for coagulating a coloring material of ink by reaction with ink, onto an intermediate transfer body; forming an ink image by adding ink onto the treatment liquid-added intermediate transfer body; and transferring the formed ink image to a recording medium. The treatment liquid contains a side chain type polyether siloxane compound represented by formula (1), has a pH of 6.0 or lower, and has a viscosity of not less than 1,000 cP and not more than 10,000 cP when a shear rate is not less then 100 per s and not more than 400 per s. |
