PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder capable of shortening a time required for flashing and reducing a load applied to an actuator and a driver IC for discharging ink.SOLUTION: A waste ink tray 132 is provided with openings 137, 138, and a recording head 38 is provided with four nozzle parts 39. Each nozzle part 39 has two lines of a nozzle array. In flashing to the waste ink tray 132, first, a nozzle array 39M1 is flashed, then, a nozzle array 39C1 is flashed, and after that, nozzle arrays 39Y1 and 39K1 are flashed at the same timing during deceleration of a carriage 37. Then, a nozzle array 39M2 is flashed, then, a nozzle array 39C2 is flashed, and after that, nozzle arrays 39Y2 and 39K2 are flashed at the same timing, during acceleration after reversal of the carriage 37. |
