PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment device and a heat treatment method capable of hardening vanish even when the temperature of an environment is changed.SOLUTION: A heat treatment device for a winding coil of a rotating electric machine includes: a preheating unit 1 which preheats a stator; a vanish dripping unit 2 which coats vanish on the stator; a heat hardening unit 3 which hardens and heats the stator on which the vanish is coated; a carrying mechanism 4 which carries the stator to each of units 1 to 3; a temperature sensor which measures the temperature of the stator carried by this carrying mechanism 4; and a control device 8 which controls the preheating unit 1 or the heat hardening unit 3 on the basis of the temperature measured by this temperature sensor. As a result, heat treatment time becomes controllable in accordance with the temperature measured by the temperature sensor, and the vanish can be hardened even if the temperature of the surrounding environment is changed.
