PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of radioactive contaminants which can treat the radioactive contaminants at low costs.SOLUTION: Water W containing radioactive contaminants R is solidified and preserved in the state of ice I. Preservation in the state of ice can shield radiation emitted by the radioactive contaminants by the ice to some extent, so that contamination of an outside with the radioactive contaminants can be reduced and, as it is possible to deal with the water in the state of ice, handling becomes easy. The water containing the radioactive contaminants can be solidified, the solidified object can be transported to a district below the freezing point, and can be preserved underground of the district below the freezing point. As water containing radioactive contaminants, washing drainage generated when the radioactive contaminants are decontaminated can be treated. As radioactive contaminants, used fuel rods and control rods can be treated. Also, water containing radioactive contaminants can be transported to the district below the freezing point as they are, and can be naturally solidified. |
