Disclosed are an on-line charging method, device and network system, which relate to the field of communications, and solve the problem of data message forwarding delay in Open Flow on-line charging. The specific solution is: a switch performing statistical analysis on a data flow corresponding to a flow entry; when the statistical result reaches the tolerance value of a threshold, the switch sending a first message to a controller for acquiring new threshold information about the flow entry, wherein the tolerance value of the threshold is less than the threshold; and the switch receiving a flow entry modification message sent by the controller before the statistical result reaches the threshold, the flow entry modification message including the new threshold information about the flow entry. The present invention is used in the process of on-line charging.
