PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a composition for forming a more stable organic and inorganic composite thin-film than conventional ones and the organic and inorganic composite thin-film excellent as a base film for forming self-organized film and free of coloring (yellow discoloration).SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing an organic and inorganic composite thin-film includes applying on a resin base material a composition for forming the organic and inorganic composite thin-film containing a) a product obtained by hydrolysis and/or condensation polymerization of an organic silicon compound represented by a formula (I), RSiX(I), where R represents an organic group in which a carbon atom is directly bound to Si, X represents a hydroxyl group or a hydrolyzable group, n represents 1 or 2, each R may be same or different when n is 2, and each X may be same or different when (4-n) is 2 or more, in the presence of a solid acid catalyst and then removing the solid acid catalyst and b) a thermosetting compound or an electromagnetic ray-curable compound, followed by its subjection to heating or electromagnetic irradiation. |
