A method for distributing changes made in a spatial database is disclosed. Clients which are connected to the spatial database are tracked and changes made to the spatial database are recorded. The tracked clients are notified of the recorded changes enabling the clients to determine how to respond to the notification of the recorded changes. At least one currency shape, which is a geometry representing currency of spatial data stored by the client, for example in a client cache which is separate from the spatial database, is used by the client to determine how to respond to the notification of the recorded changes made to the spatial database. |
