摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tabular catalyst element using a substrate comprising an inorganic fiber for achieving a catalytic structure capable of increasing diffusion efficiency of gas.SOLUTION: The tabular catalyst element is obtained by a production method comprising the steps of: applying a catalyst paste to a substrate comprising the network of the inorganic fiber; and simultaneously performing bending work and pressing work to form a corrugated/rugged stripe part 2 and a projection part 3. The tabular catalyst element has the substrate comprising the network of the inorganic fiber and a layer containing a catalyst component deposited to bury the space between the adjacent meshes of the substrate. The substrate has at least two corrugated/rugged stripe parts, each of which comprises at least one projection stripe and at least one recessed stripe and traverses the surface of the substrate, while leaving a space between the adjacent ones. The layer containing the catalyst component has at least one projection part on a flat part 1 between the adjacent corrugated/rugged stripe parts formed while leaving the space between the adjacent ones. The catalyst element for cleaning exhaust gas is used suitably in a denitration apparatus for removing nitrogen oxide and is obtained by using a substrate comprising a network of an inorganic fiber.
