A plastics box for aspirin &c. tablets comprises a body 3 integral with two strap hinges 4 and a lid 2, the distance C between the back and front portions of a continuous peripheral tongue 10 extending round the body walls being slightly greater than the corresponding distance D between portions of a continuous groove 20 in the walls of the lid, so that when the box is closed and the tongue pushed into the slot, a tight fit is obtained. Also, the body 3 has an external ridge 11 against which the lid 2 seats, and the tongue 10 has a bevelled edge 23 leading to a wedge-shaped section terminating at a ridge 24; the inner surface of the tongue has a bead 25 forced against the wall of the slot 20. A corresponding bead 27 is formed inside the outer wall of the slot 20, the inner wall of which narrows in wedge shape below a junction line 26. The tongue 10 is a little larger than the groove 20. Buttons (13), Fig. 1 (not shown), 19 are formed on the body 3 and lid 2, to facilitate opening. Raised pins 14 in the body 3 hold apart the tablets in the box.
