PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for manufacturing a sintered type electrode having high density as compared with conventional ones; and a battery including a sintered type electrode manufactured by the manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a sintered type electrode includes: a step of preparing a compact of a lithium transition metal based compound; a first heat treatment step of subjecting the compact to heat treatment to obtain a first sintered body; an adding step of adding a solution containing Li, B and O to the first sintered body; and a second heat treatment step of subjecting the first sintered body after the adding step to heat treatment.
