Disclosed are a hard decision decoding method and a low density parity check decoder using the same. The hard decision decoding method includes a step of performing a partial calculation process which is needed for a first check node update process while data inputted into the decoder is loaded in an input buffer; a step of performing the first check node update process by using a result of the partial calculation process after the data corresponding to one code word is stored in the input buffer; and a step of performing a low density parity check decoding process by using the result in which the first check node is updated.
