PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize an ion generator and an ion generation device.SOLUTION: An ion generator comprises: a substrate 210; a transformer drive circuit 220 provided on the substrate 210; a transformer provided on the substrate 210, and stepping up voltage by being driven by the transformer drive circuit 220; and a needle-shaped electrode 240 provided on the substrate 210, and discharging electricity by being applied with the voltage stepped-up by the transformer to generate ions. In addition, the ion generator comprises: a case 260 at least covering a root side of the needle-shaped electrode 240 and a secondary side of the transformer, and having an opening into which a pointed end side of the needle-shaped electrode 240 is inserted; and an insulation encapsulation part 290 filled in a space surrounded with the case 260 and the substrate 210. At least a part of the transformer drive circuit 220 is located outside the case 260. |
