PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting resin composition for protection film comprising an alkoxy group-containing silane-modified epoxy resin as an essential component, and a protection film of a color filter produced from the same and a liquid crystal display element including the same.SOLUTION: A thermosetting resin composition for protection film has excellent film strength and adhesion force by comprising an alkoxy group-containing silane-modified epoxy resin as an essential component, and can be used effectively for a protection film of a color filter for a liquid crystal display element.
