PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater cleaning device that includes a position sensor unit capable of accurately detecting a position on the bottom of a ship and a ship-side outer surface when the underwater cleaning device performs cleaning by traveling on the bottom of the ship and the ship-side outer surface.SOLUTION: A caster-type sensor 49 is provided on the front side of a support 3. When a proximity sensor 80 detects that a distance detection roller 63 of the sensor 49 is pushed to the bottom of a ship or a ship side, an encoder 85 starts the detection of the amount of rotation of the distance detection roller 63, and a turning angle sensor 103 detects a turning angle of the distance detection roller 63.
