PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass which has a refractive index of 1.55-1.9, a low deformation temperature (≤520°C) and good devitrification resistance, and is suitable for press molding. SOLUTION: The optical glass contains, by weight, 6-37% SiO<SB>2</SB>, >7 and≤26% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and≤15% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, with the proviso that the total amount of SiO<SB>2</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>is 19-66%, and 18-73% Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>as oxide composition, based on 100% of the total glass, and has a refractive index of 1.55-1.9 and a deformation temperature of≤520°C.
