A grid comprises a series of parallel notched members 1 interconnected by a second series of "channel shaped" members 3 resiliently engaging the notches. The first series may be solid or "channel shaped." The second series are held in the notches 2 by parts, e.g. 3'a, 3"a engaging projections 6-7, or detents in the notches of the first series. Longitudinal movement of the second series may be prevented by milling or serrating one edge or by deforming the edges of the members into the channels of the first series at the intersection. In one embodiment, (Figs. 18-9, not shown) inturned edges (43,4) of the second series engage detents cut in a central boss (40) projecting into the notches cut across the bases of channel shaped first members. In a further embodiment (Figs. 20-26, not shown) the central bosses are deformed to closely engage and prevent movement of the second series. The members may be of metal, which may be plastics coated, or of plastics. |
