An air deflecting system 10 for a commercial vehicle comprises a deflector 14 on a roof 16 of a drivers cab 12 moveable between a first position A and a second position B. An adjuster 18 moves air deflector 14 between positions A, B, and comprises a spring, suitably a pneumatic spring 20, attached to deflector 14 and roof 16 and loaded by movement of deflector 14, and a cable 30 connected between deflector 14 and a rotatable adjustment wheel 26 on an axis 28 and preferably mounted on cab 12, so that rotation of wheel 26 moves deflector 14. Wheel 26 may be readily accessible, allowing manual adjustment without climbing onto roof 16; automatic adjustment may also be provided. Springs 20 may hold deflector 14 in an extended position and tension by cable 30 may allow retraction against thrust from springs 20. |
