1,155,700. Making bladed rotors and stators. ARTHUR PFEIFFER HOCHVAKUUMTECHNIK G.m.b.H. 29 Dec., 1967 [30 Dec., 1966], No. 59149/67. Heading B3A. [Also in Division F1] In making a rotor or stator disc for a molecular vacuum pump, each blade is formed from a sheet metal blank, Fig. 4, by bending the blank at right angles along lines A, B, C, D and F and by twisting along line E. Thus, the root portion 7 assumes a generally U-shaped configuration, and the tip of the blade is formed with an integral shroud section which on assembly of the blade to the rotor ring 2, 3, Fig. 1, or to the stator ring 14, 15, extends circumferentially of the ring into overlapping relationship with a corresponding shroud section of an adjacent blade for subsequent spot welding thereto. The U-shaped root portion is sandwiched between the parts 2, 3 of the rotor ring or the parts 14, 15 of the stator ring, the parts 3, 15 being secured to the parts 2, 14 by swaged or beaded flanges 11, 16. |
