The apparatus (100) has an electromagnet (3a) that is set for spanning workpiece on clamping surface (3). A centering device (11) is provided for centering workpiece in clamping surface movable chuck jaws (5). The centering device is provided with stator (2) and rotor (1) exhibiting electrical rotation drive process with a rotational axis. The centering device is provided for deriving linear chuck jaw movement of electromotor (12).
