A housing for a wireless communications device includes a metal cover providing structural strength to the housing. An aperture is formed in the metal cover adjacent an antenna to limit interference with transmissions through the antenna. The opposing side of the housing is made from a material that allows transmission from the antenna with limited interference, thereby providing omni-directional transmissions.
