The present invention provides a device for driving an electric bicycle comprising a variable mode operation part for outputting a low speed mode signal or a high speed mode signal; a control part for receiving the low speed mode signal or the high speed mode signal outputted from the variable mode operation part and outputting a first control signal corresponding to the low speed mode signal or a second control signal corresponding to the high speed mode signal; a generating signal supply part for supplying a generating signal outputted from a generator; a pedal sense load boosting part which receives the first control signal or the second control signal when outputting the low speed mode signal or the high speed mode signal in the variable mode operation part, boosts a load in the generating signal outputted from the generating signal supply part and includes the boosted load in a pedal sense signal corresponding to the low speed mode signal or the high speed mode signal to be supplied to a pedal sense supply part; and the pedal sense supply part which receives the pedal sense signal outputted from the pedal sense load boosting part and outputs a pedal sense driving signal corresponding to the low speed mode signal or the high speed mode signal so that pedals can be driven with the pedal sense suitable for a low speed mode or a high speed mode.
