<p>Compounds of the general Formula (I) <FORM:1057473/C2/1> (wherein the lower alkanoyl and lower alkyl groups each contain 1-7 carbon atoms and the broken lines denote optional substituents) and their acid addition salts are prepared by heating an oxazirino compound of the Formula (II) <FORM:1057473/C2/2> optionally followed by hydrolysis or hydrolysis and lower alkylation, and/or salt formation. The 1-(lower alkanoyl) compounds of Formula (I) are reconverted to the oxazirino compounds on exposure to light. The compounds of the invention are anti-convulsants, and some are tranquilizers and muscle relaxants. They may be administered enterally or parenterally in the form of pharmaceutical preparations (e.g. tablets, drag</>aees, suppositories, capsules, solutions, emulsions and suspensions) containing them, with or without other (unspecified) active ingredients, together with a carrier.</p> |
