PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating paint capable of forming an insulated film with heat resistance, high adherence to a conductor, and a low dielectric constant, and to provide an insulated electric cable made of the insulating paint. SOLUTION: The insulating paint for forming an insulated film for covering a conductor is made from a polyimide resin having a repeating unit including a quadrivalent aromatic ether and/or an aromatic group and a polyphenine ether group represented by formula (1).
