PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular extension device, simply configured, capable of extending when a collision is predicted and occurred, and capable of coping with situation without replacing parts when a collision is avoided.SOLUTION: From a standby position to an extended position, an extension part 11 to be extended for catching a protection target article is moved when the device is operated. A vehicular extension device 10 includes: a latch part 20 for latching a latched portion 17 of the extension part so as to move the extension part to an extended position with restoration force of the yielded spring 18 when releasing a latch; and a gunpowder-operating actuator 35 and a reversible actuator 55 for moving the latch part from a latched state to a latch-released state. The actuator 35 is operated at a collision, while the actuator 55 is operated at a collision predicted time. The latch part 20 includes: a spring 31 for energizing the latched portion 17 in a direction of latching; and a restoring slide part 27 for allowing the latched part to slide so as to restore itself to the latched state using the energized force of the spring 31 when the extension part is restored to the standby position after being extended. |
