PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power generation device capable of reliably positioning a water wheel below a water surface.SOLUTION: A hydraulic power generation device 1 comprises: a water wheel 10 which is positioned below a water surface Ws; a generator 55 which generates power with rotation of the water wheel 10; a motion guide section which has a shaft body 31 coaxially arranged with respect to a rotation center of the water wheel 10 and allows the shaft body 31 to move into a rotational axis direction of the generator 55 while transferring the rotation of the shaft body 31 to the generator 55; and a water wheel position adjustment section 60 which vertically moves the shaft body 31 in accordance with a change in a water level.
