A method for processing a data broadcasting signal and a receiving apparatus thereof are provided to restrict application attempting access to an authentication module, thereby improving the security of television commerce through the broadcasting receiver. A method for processing a data broadcasting signal comprises the following steps of: determining whether application attempting access to an authentication module is an effective authenticated application(S31); permitting access to the authentication module if the application is determined as the effective authenticated application(S32); and storing the change information of the authentication module if the authentication module is changed after permitting the application to gain access to the authentication module(S33). |
