PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an implement for adjusting the length of a chain, which is used for eliminating the sagging, for example, of the chain for suspending work scaffolding in a civil engineering construction site. SOLUTION: This implement comprises a bolt 1, an engaging member 2 on the head side of the bolt 1, and an engaging member 3 on the leading end side of the bolt 1; the engaging member 2 is loosely fitted into a shank 1a of the bolt 1 in such a manner as to be rotatable around on an axis and axially movable; a hook part 6, which has a leading end of a hook directed to the leading end side of the bolt 1, is fixed and continuously provided so as to be positioned in the lateral direction of the shank 1a of the bolt; the engaging member 3 is equipped with a female screw hole 8 into which the shank 1a of the bolt is screw-fitted; and the hook part 6, which has the leading end of the hook directed to the side of the head 1b of the bolt 1, is fixed and continuously provided so as to be positioned in the lateral direction of the shank 1a of the bolt.
