A three-dimensional polarization beam splitter based on two-dimensional photonic crystal sheets comprises a two-dimensional photonic crystal sheet at the upper part, a two-dimensional photonic crystal sheet positioned at the bottom and being perpendicular to the two-dimensional photonic crystal sheet at the upper part, and an input coupling dielectric block (2). A P polarized-wave output waveguide (1) is arranged in the two-dimensional photonic crystal sheet at the upper part; an S polarized-wave output waveguide (4) is arranged in the two-dimensional photonic crystal sheet at the bottom; output ports of both the P polarized-wave output waveguide (1) and the S polarized-wave output waveguide (4) are separated in a three-dimensional space; and each photonic crystal sheet comprises background dielectrics (5) and dielectric cylinders (6). The three-dimensional polarization beam splitter is small in structural size and high in both degree of polarization and light transmission efficiency, facilitates integration, has high efficiency, and is suitable for large-scale optical path integration, and can play a role of polarization beam splitting of various wavelengths. |
