PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve speedy wheel position detection on a smooth road surface and accurate wheel position detection even on a bumpy road surface.SOLUTION: A wheel position detection device sets an allowable variation range when performing wheel position detection in accordance with a road surface state. In particular, the wheel position detection device sets a narrower allowable variation range for a smooth road surface and a wider allowable variation range for a bumpy road surface. Thus, the wheel position detection device can perform the wheel position detection: with the narrower allowable variation range when a vehicle is traveling on the smooth road surface, thereby enabling the wheel position detection to be performed faster; and with the wider allowable variation range when the vehicle is traveling on the bumpy road surface, thereby enabling the wheel position detection to be accurately performed even with the bumpy road surface. Therefore, the wheel position detection device can speedily perform the wheel position detection on the smooth road surface and accurately perform the same even on the bumpy road surface. |
