PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire of which the distal end part performs joint motion.SOLUTION: A guide wire 100 includes a slender guide member 102 formed to have a dimension to be inserted into a vessel in the body of a subject. The slender guide member 102 includes a slender body segment 110 and a leading distal end segment 106. The slender body segment 110 defines an opening part in the longitudinal direction thereof and the leading distal end segment 106 is formed to have a dimension to perform joint motion with respect to the slender body segment 110 around a single axis p. A control element 118 extends through the opening part 120 in the longitudinal direction of the slender body segment 110 and can be moved in the longitudinal direction through manual operation by a clinician in order to cause the leading tip segment 106 to perform corresponding joint motion. |
