PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such a phenomenon in an IPS (in-plane switching) type liquid crystal display device that the inside of a counter substrate is charged by influences of a gate voltage applied to a scanning line lead wire and a void is induced in a periphery of a screen.SOLUTION: In a pixel section (A) constituting a display region, a pixel electrode 110 is disposed via an insulating film 109 on a counter electrode 108 formed in a planar shape. In a scanning line leading section (C), a scanning line lead wire is composed of a first scanning line lead wire 311 and a second scanning line lead wire 312 formed in separate layers so as to decrease the width of the region (C). The scanning line lead wire is covered with a shield electrode 107 formed in the same layer as the counter electrode 108. The shield electrode 107 has a high shielding effect as the electrode extends to beneath a sealing material 20. The sealing effect is not damaged since the insulating film 109 is present between the sealing material 20 and the shield electrode 107. |
