A dispensing apparatus for dispensing material from a flexible container comprises a substantially planar flattener member 12, a body 14 including a pair of opposed spaced side walls 42, and a pair of opposed spaced end walls 44. The flattener member 12 and the body 14 together define a cavity 24. The flattener member 12 includes a wall 52 and spaced, substantially parallel lips (22, fig 3) which define an elongate mouth 16 in the form of a slit. The lips (22, fig 3) include a bend or curve formation 20 to induce, in use, the formation of a longitudinal bend, crease or trough in the container, as the container is pulled through the lips (22, fig 3). By forming a bend in the container the rigidity of the flexible container is said to be improved which therefore makes handling easier. The method of use is also disclosed. |
