PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination unit that has high luminous efficiency and is free of color fading and deterioration of pigment and dye, and further to provide an electronic apparatus and a projection type display device provided with the illumination unit.SOLUTION: An illumination unit 100 comprises: a light-emitting element that has a solid light source emitting excitation light ExL and a fluorescent body 103 irradiated by the excitation light ExL; a light conversion element for converting at least a part of radiation light from the light-emitting element into parallel light; and a light filter element that transmits long wavelength light through the parallel light and reflects short wavelength light. The short wavelength light incurring color fading and deterioration is partially removed from the parallel light. Accordingly, there can be provided the illumination unit 100 emitting light that hardly causes the color fading and the deterioration of pigment and dye. |
