<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which has superior manufacturability and economy, and also has superior branching operability, and a branching method for the optical fiber cable. <P>SOLUTION: A coated optical fiber 7 is arranged at a substantially center position of a section of an optical fiber cable 1. A coating part 3 is provided to an outer periphery of the coated optical fiber 7. Projection parts 5 are formed on upper and lower surface sides (in a direction where a tension member 9 is not provided) of the cross section of the coating part 3. The projection parts 5 are formed integrally with the coating part 3. A border between the projection part 5 and the coating part 3 is a projection base part 6. The interval between the projection base parts 6 on both sides of the projection part 5 is L1. Shortest distances between the projection base parts 6 on both the sides of the projection part 5 and the coated optical fiber 7 are L2, L3 respectively. The optical fiber cable 1 has the coated optical fiber 7 and projection parts 5 arranged so that the distance L1 between the projection base parts 6 is larger than the sum (L2+L3) of the shortest distances between the projection base parts 6 and coated optical fiber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
