PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable stable operation by preventing rapid heat generation in an absorption liquid.SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide recovery apparatus includes: an absorption column which brings gas containing carbon dioxide into contact with an absorption liquid to produce a rich solution in which the carbon dioxide has been absorbed; a regeneration column which heats the rich solution to diffuse vapor containing carbon dioxide to produce a lean solution from which carbon dioxide has been removed; a heat exchanger which performs heat exchange between the lean solution and the rich solution, supplies the rich solution after the heat exchange to the regeneration column, and supplies the lean solution after the heat exchange to the absorption column; and a cooler which cools a part of the rich solution discharged from a first point of the absorption column and supplies the cooled rich solution to a second point of the absorption column located higher than the first point.
