The fuel valve (24) has a valve body with an inlet opening (56) and an outlet opening (58), which are connected with each other in an open position of the fuel valve. A valve piston is designed to block the outlet opening in a closed position of the valve. The valve piston has a connection channel for connecting the inlet opening of the valve body with a spring space of a valve spring. The connecting channel has a bore, particularly an axial bore, through the valve piston. A throttle passage the connecting channel has reduced diameter, and is extended in the radial direction.
