The drive train (10) has a tank (100) to store chemical energy in the form of natural gas, particularly liquefied natural gas (LNG), where one or more pure-natural gas generators, particularly LNG-generators (200) are provided to generate electrical energy from the chemical energy of the natural gas stored in the tank. A battery (300) is arranged to store the electrical energy generated by the gas generator, where a driving device (400) is provided to convert the electrical energy, available from the battery, into mechanical energy for driving a ship (1) by using the mechanical energy. An independent claim is included for a ship for use with a pipe that is connected to a land-based power grid. |
