The present invention is to maintain a stabilized welding state in a pulse arc welding process even when an external inductance value is high. In a method for controlling a pulse arc welding process, a welding current (lw) is increased from a base current (Ib) to the peak current (lp) during a peak increasing section (Tu), is the peak current (p) during a peak section (Tp), is decreased from the peak current (Ip) to the base current (Ib) during a peak decreasing section (Td), and is the base current (Ib) during a base section (Tb). If the increased speed of the welding current (lw) during the peak increasing section (Tu) is detected over a reference speed, the peak current (lp) is set as a reference peak current value (lps). If the increased speed is less than the reference speed, the peak current (lp) is set as an increased peak current value (lph) higher than the reference peak current value (lps). When the external inductance value is high, the peak current (lp) is increased and pinch strength becomes strong; thereby stabilizing the welding state. |
