PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect displacement of a sheet to a main scanning direction on a transporting path with a low cost and a simple structure, in an image forming apparatus for forming an image on the sheet transported along the transporting path.SOLUTION: A sheet edge detection sensor 318 comprises functions as a remaining paper detection sensor and a tip/rear ends detection sensor other than a function as the sheet edge detection sensor.
